Enhanced versus base nominations

Which PNP nominations add 600 CRS points?

Only an enhanced nomination connected to a valid Express Entry profile adds 600 CRS points. A base or direct non-Express Entry nomination does not add CRS points; the nominee applies for permanent residence through the separate non-Express Entry process.

+600

Enhanced PNP nomination

The candidate must qualify for Express Entry, maintain a valid profile, be nominated through an Express Entry-aligned provincial or territorial stream and accept the nomination electronically. The 600 additional points are normally decisive in obtaining a federal invitation.

No CRS

Base / non-Express Entry nomination

The candidate qualifies under a provincial stream that does not operate through Express Entry. After nomination, the person files a separate federal permanent-residence application. The nomination is valuable, but it does not change the Express Entry CRS score.

Province or territoryEnhanced options that can add 600 CRS pointsExamples of base/direct options that do not add CRS
AlbertaAlberta Express Entry Stream, including current Express Entry pathways such as Accelerated Tech and the Express Entry option of Dedicated Health Care when selected under that stream.Alberta Opportunity, Tourism and Hospitality, Rural Renewal, non-Express Entry Dedicated Health Care and entrepreneur/farm streams.
British ColumbiaExpress Entry BC option for eligible Skills Immigration categories, including qualifying Skilled Worker and Health Authority applicants.Base Skills Immigration categories, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled, and entrepreneur streams.

OntarioExpress Entry-aligned nomination option for eligible Workforce Priority Skilled Worker and Self-Employed Physician candidates with a valid federal profile.Non-Express Entry Skilled Worker, Essential Worker and Physician nominations.
SaskatchewanSaskatchewan Express Entry and the Express Entry version of a qualifying current talent pathway where offered.Occupation In-Demand, Employment Offer, Saskatchewan Experience and non-Express Entry talent pathways.
New BrunswickNew Brunswick Express Entry Stream.Base Skilled Worker, Strategic Initiative, Business and other direct provincial pathways.
Nova ScotiaNova Scotia: Express Entry.Skilled Worker, Nova Scotia Graduate, physician and entrepreneur routes that are not processed through Express Entry.
Prince Edward IslandPEI Express Entry.Base Workforce and Business Impact pathways.
Newfoundland & LabradorExpress Entry Skilled Worker.Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Priority Skills NL and entrepreneur pathways.
YukonYukon Express Entry.Skilled Worker, Critical Impact Worker and business pathways.
Northwest TerritoriesNo current Express Entry-aligned nomination stream identified.Employer-Driven, Francophone and Business streams are direct territorial routes.

Not PNPs: Québec operates its own selection system; Nunavut has no nominee program; and the Atlantic Immigration Program is a federal-regional pathway. None of these awards the 600-point enhanced-PNP bonus. Stream names, intake and Express Entry alignment can change, so the exact nomination certificate and profile must be checked.

The Atlantic Immigration Program is for skilled foreign workers and qualifying international graduates who want to become permanent residents of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador. Applicants need a job offer from a designated employer and provincial endorsement.

  • Applicant and employer criteria are separate: the “same management for 2 years” requirement applies to employer designation, not to every applicant.
  • Qualifying work experience is generally 1,560 hours over at least one year within the previous five years, unless the applicant meets the qualifying Atlantic-graduate exemption.
  • Job offers must be full-time and non-seasonal. Duration requirements vary by TEER category.
  • Language minimums are generally CLB/NCLC 5 for TEER 0–3 and CLB/NCLC 4 for TEER 4.
  • Province-specific intake caps and sector limits change; confirm the live provincial endorsement and intake page before applying.

Ontario Workforce Priority Stream — 2026

New 2026 stream Current employer thresholds

Ontario redesigned the OINP in 2026 and opened the Workforce Priority Stream EOI portal on August 4, 2026. Employer revenue requirements use three location-based tiers, not a simple “inside GTA / outside GTA” distinction.

Employer revenue — current 2026 tiers: at least $1,000,000 total gross annual revenue for a work location in the GTA; at least $500,000 for the listed mid-tier census divisions (including Ottawa, Waterloo, Hamilton, Simcoe, Middlesex, Niagara, Essex, Wellington, Greater Sudbury, Frontenac, Brant, Peterborough, Hastings and Thunder Bay); and at least $250,000 in each of the two most recently completed fiscal years for other Ontario locations. Check the OINP Employer Guide for the exact location and employee-count rules.

Occupation-priority and invitation documents

Occupation priorities, sector caps and intake status can change rapidly. Use the province-specific, date-stamped selection modules and follow the linked government source rather than relying on a static national occupation list.

Past Ontario and federal invitation lists are useful as historical draw archives, but their scores and targeted occupations are not current eligibility rules.
